Wood gave a detailed briefing on the town’s trees. He said a very popular tree in Washington was the Box Elder, but it has a short life- only 40 to 50 years- without needing attention.
“Box Elders are the poorest choice for a landscape tree,” ho said.
He said that a giant Box Elder had to be removed in front of the Clopton House which belongs to Sunnyside Farms and many others in town are damaged.
