Resolution Whereas, Diana W. Bird of Washington, Virginia died on the 30th day of January 2004; and Whereas, Diana W. Bird was an early force in the formation of this Association and served this Association as President, as well as a member of the board for many years; and Whereas, her warm personal friendship, good humor, candor, thoughtfulness and guidance were invaluable in the formative years of the Association, and she is fondly remembered by our board members who served with her; and Whereas, her many contributions to our community have earned her the highest respect and friendship of her many friends and associates; and Whereas, her untimely death constitutes a deep loss to this Association and to the community and it is most fitting and proper that we should express our heartfelt and deep sense of personal loss and in some small way express our deep sympathy to her family; Now, therefore be it resolved that the Board of Directors of The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community in it’s regular meeting assembled, do hereby unanimously express it’s deep sense of personal loss at the passing from our midst of our friend and former leader Diana W. Bird and to express to her family our deepest sympathy in their bereavement; and Be it farther resolved that the president of this Association communicate a copy of this resolution to her family and that a copy hereof be published in the Rappahannock News.
