Rappahannock library. Theodore, a published poet, rabbi and social activist will pose the question, “Ice Age or Sane Economy?” Theodore will talk about the disastrous state of our current economy, and present chilling evidence about how global warming could actually trigger an ice age.
• On April 9 at 8 p.m. the Library Series presents curator and art historian John Beardsley, who will tell the story of the amazing “Quilts of Gees Bend.” For generations, quilts have been handmade by the community of Gees Bend, in isolated, rural Alabama. The quilts were made by necessity for warmth, yet are beautiful works of art created by an entire community.
The revival of RAAC on Tbur coincides with the April 9 Library Series event.
• On April 10, RAAC is sponsoring a “reservation only” field trip to the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. to see the “Quilts of Gees Bend” exhibit now on display through May 17.
