probation by the Fauquier Adult Court Services and a consecutive 12 months of unsupervised probation. His operator’s permit will be suspended for a total of 24 months and he will have to complete 100 hours of community service.
Asked in an interview after the court hearing whether he felt the plea agreement would be criticized as too light, Commonwealth Attorney Peter Luke said, “I think it was a fair agreement for the Commonwealth.”
He said that Corbin lost his brother, had no prior record, and had cooperated with police. He said the statute calls for the Commonwealth’s Attorney to consider the wish- - es of the victims and Corbin’s parents were victims as well. “I took into account that the outcome would also come back on the victims- the surviving parents of Dylan Corbin.”
Luke said that he did not know whether others charged after the party would choose to go to trial, but “I have to have my ducks in order.”
Kori A. Alexander 18, of Flint Hill also pleaded guilty to one count of underage possession of alcohol at the party. Her lawyer said she had one beer. Luke said she had “cooperated with the investigation” and was “down at the bottom” of the party doers in involvement with the night’s festivities. She was sentenced to 50 hours of community service, given three months probation and her driving was restricted for three months.
Two' others named in charges stemming from the party were in court Tuesday: Megan M. Murphy, 18, of Front Royal and Gordon M. McGuire, 19, of Linden. Their cases were set for May 18.
