Adopt school budget,
protect farmland

After a brief debate on fairness, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to pay $200 a month more toward the cost of health insurance to county employees who have dependents.
In other votes, the supervisors adopted a $10.4 million school budget and approved the Farmland Protection Program.
The skyrocketing medical insurance costs have meant many lower paid county employees, like deputy sheriffs, have seen their cost of living adjustments over the last five years wiped out by insurance premium hikes.
