A “Rivers and Roots” music festival, sponsored by Sunnyside Farms to support Rappahannock County music education programs, will be held on Saturday, May 29 from noon to 8:30 p.m., in the field beside Sunnyside Farms Famous Rest Stop at the intersection of highways 211 and 522 in Sperryville.
Headlining the lineup is acclaimed folk-pop duo, The Kennedys, who appear onstage at 7 p.m. Also featured is legendary composer, songwriter, and recording artist Paul Reisler, co-founder of the music ensemble Trapezoid, with vocalist Amy Speace, appearing at 6 p.m.
Other performers include contemporary folk/rock artist Anna Wolfe, Piedmont Blues virtuoso Eric Freeman, postmodern Celtic group Tinsmith, Debbie Zinn & Friends with classic country and gospel, Dinah Ansley and John Hallberg on mountain dulcimers, the Hearthstone School Band with maestro Dontez Harris, and the bluegrass duo Anthony Kleindist
