Coming soon, patients will be able to pick up a phone from their room and call in their order from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. A long list of specialities will be available, ranging from broiled salmon to soups, salads, pizza, pasta and sandwiches.
There are some extra benefits to being connected to a hospital, Burdick noted.
“The health inspectors are regulars in here, so you know it’s the cleanest place around,” she said, laughing.
For Burdick, it’s more than just a place to eat.
“I’ve been here since 1987, and this is pretty much a dream come true,” she said. “I’m so grateful to the senior management for allowing us to do this.”
The Bistro on the Hill is located in the new wing of the Fauquier Hospital, just behind the new main entrance. The main bistro is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and by the time this newspaper goes to press, the Night Owl Cafe should be open from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. The phone number is (540) 3495496.
