The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad sponsored its annual Miss Rappahannock Pageant on April 3 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. This year’s event was the largest ever, with 91 participants in 10 categories.
The pageant is one of the major fund-raising events for the squad. All proceeds are used to purchase much needed equipment in order to provide better emergency medical care for those in need.
Miss Rappahannock 2004, Melanie Torrance, was crowned by Miss Rappahannock 2003, Sherri Woodward. Melanie was also named Miss Congeniality by her peers.
Jammie Magee, Miss Rappahannock 2002 had the honor of crowning her sister, Allison Magee, as the winner of the Little Miss category.
