The Blue Ridge Civil War Roundtable will meet Tuesday, May 18 at the Rappahannock County Library. Frank Walker of Orange, Va., in full Civil War uniform, will speak at 7:30 p.m. on “The Mine Run Campaign,” the first potential confrontation between Lee and Grant following Gettysburg. Songwriters ’ Festival

Hearthstone School in Sperryville will hold a “Songwriters’ Festival” to benefit the school on Saturday, May 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. An event for the whole family, the evening of song features Vyktoria Pratt Keating, Joanne Juskus, Ben Mason, Bill Abernathy, Jeff Severson and Rafael Lorenzo. The Trinity Episcopal Church Garden Guild and Mary Ann Kuhn invite the community to the third annual “Great Spring Garden Party" at the Middleton Inn on Saturday, June 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds go to the fund for the preservation of the church’s gardens in the center of the village of Washington.
