“I've loved to fly since I was a boy," Alfonso said. “When you don’t fly for a while, you really miss it.”
Gatewood summed up what the airport and flight center mean to the area.
“We offer the ability to move on,” he said. “We’re a steppingstone. You can start here and move on into commercial aviation.
“The county government has worked with private enterprise, and we’ve got a nice little airport here."
