products, services, art, crafts, books and other items that we are able to buy in the county, donated to this event. As a result of their individual and collective community spirit, the auction was the most successful in recent history.
Carson Johnson, Charter Member of the Lions Club, commented, “These same businesses donate to other organizations throughout the year making their events successful. We thank them for all they do for the community and for helping the Lions.”
Each year, Lions members visit the businesses in the county soliciting items for the auction. This past spring, Stu Willis of “Rare Finds” offered items remaining from his closeout sale. Others provided items from their inventory. Vineyards and others gave gift certificates.
The proceeds from the auctioned items are used by the Lions Club to further its mission of sponsoring and supporting events that contribute to the betterment of the county community. Additionally, the Lions help financially other countywide civic, service and welfare entities with their respective missions that benefit county residents.
The Lions Club acknowledges and appreciates the significant contribution made by the business owners this year and in past years. Their civic mindedness is applauded.
