I?m writing in response to a
letter that appeared in the April 22 issue of the Rappahannock News written by Rosie Clements of Sperryvilie concerning the Old Rag parking situation.
As a long-standing member of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, I would like to correct some inaccuracies that were stated in that letter and perhaps shed some truer light on the plans for the proposed parking area there, one that has been designed to benefit both hikers and local residents.
The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) is a non-profit organization whose members donate thousands of hours of volunteer service to the hiking community and who help maintain the trails in Shenandoah National Park for all to enjoy.
