secondary accreditation “is surprised there is so much ruckus” over the accreditation status of the county high school,.according to E. P. Luke, chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Luke made his remarks at a special meeting held Tuesday to review the school board’s budget and capital outlay proposals. At a citizens’ capital outlay meeting two weeks ago, Superintendent William Bloomer acknowledged that Rappahannock High School had slipped into the “accredited but warned “ category with between seven and ten deficiencies counted against accreditation. From the first stimulating throb of a trio of Rappahannock High School guitarists to the closing plaintive melody, “Over the Rainbow” by the Bridgewater College Stage Band, it was a delightful evening of 20th Century “go music.” As the curtain closed on the talent show, judges moved in to award first place and $25 dollars to Jeannette Beebe of Castleton whose charm and skill with guitar and voice had already received warm audience approval. Second place soloist Sharon Settle of Amissville graciously divided another $25 with accompanist Dee Dee Grant of Washington.
