Building Trades shop to allow students to work on larger projects sheltered from the elements. The board did so.

Chappell also went over a list of emergency expenditures he authorized in preparing the school for the upcoming year, including the purchase of nearly $16,000 in equipment from Verizon to support the new T-l lines put into the schools.

Chappell noted that the exhaust hood in the Culinary Arts Room had been installed and he had authorized $7,400 for the drop ceiling and recessed lighting to be put in.

A new phone system was also installed in the high school at a cost of $7,805 Chappell said.

The board also gave approval to pursue establishing a Future Farmers of America chapter at RCHS. Money for FFA will come from donations.
