underway
The Rappahannock Soccer Association’s Under 12 Lady Red Rockets traveled to Culpeper Saturday, Sept. 11, for their first game of the year and came away with a win. Brittani Dodson was goalie for the first half and part of the second half. Bryn Sonnett played goal for the last part of the game.
“The Red Rockets are a very tough and experienced team,” coach Jim Humbles said.
Bryn Sonnett scored the first goal of the game, with Joslyn Smith adding two more. Brittani Dodson topped off the scoring with a goal to make the final score 4-0.
Humbles said the Rockets played strong on both offense and defense.
The team is sponsored by sponsored by White Oak Veterinary. This roster this year includes Peyton Bailey, Amy Cooper, Brittani Dodson, Kodi Gandt, Sarah Henry, Haley Hogan, Caitlin Humbles, Maria Lee, Joslyn Smith, Bryn Sonnett, Brittany Stephens, Tiffany Wayland and Sarah Wheatley.
The team’s next game will be at 19:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Culpeper’s Emerald Hill Elementary School on Rt. 229.
