Theatre notes - Finale!
Ben Jones and Bill Harris, Rappahannock residents who are famous far beyond our county, are teaming up to provide the grand finale of the spring season at the Theatre at Washington. Ben will provide the vocals, Bill will play the piano, and they will be joined for this concert by David Jemigan on bass. The date for the concert by the Rappahannock Jazz Ensemble, as the group is called, is Saturday, May 26 and the time 8 p.m.
Ben has appeared hundreds of times on stage, TV and in film but he is perhaps best known as “Cooter” from his role in the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. This time, though, it is not as Cooter that he’ll be coming to the Theatre. Instead, he’ll bring us some of the enchanting popular songs known as “The Great American Songbook”.
Jazz pianist Bill Harris has an outstanding reputation in the Washington, D.C. area. This will be first time he has played at the Theatre here in “Little” Washington. He will be joined by his long-time colleague, bassist David Jemigan, who will also be appearing at the Theatre for the first time.
