at the “Inn”

Mrs. Aloe Hitt enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day present, when her grandson, Corey entertained her for dinner at The Inn at Little Washington. They were joined by Clay Vickers, who also entertained his mother, Mrs. Laynne Vickers. After a delicious meal they were given a tour of The Inn where both of the young men are employed.

Mother’s Day quests in the Pleregory home for a cook out included, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg, Kellie, Karla, Matthew and Mark of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier and Ray Wharton, and Adam Settle who were here from Knoxville Tfenn., visiting his relatives.

Congratulations to our area young people, Miranda Shaw, Jessica Shaw, Shelby Thornhill, Trey Sumdler, Samantha White and Candace Rutherford, all students at Rappahannock Elementary school, who made the Honor Roll for the last grading period.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Mills were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hoover and family in Carlyle, Pel, going especially for the birthday party of their little grandson, Chant, who was three years old.

The Salem Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments held their monthly Singing and Pickin’ party Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Marc Dodson of Harrisonburg were Saturday guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Dodson of Salem Way.

We would like to extend happy wishes to Dick and Jenny Mae Jenkins of Dennis Road, who will be celebrating annthw wedding anniversary on Monday, May 28, and belated wishes to David and Debi Thompson who celebrated another year together Saturday

At Mother’s Day activities for the Black Oak Regular Baptist Church, Mrs. D. J. Dodson was selected as Mother of the Year, with Mrs. Julia Sisk being recognized as oldest mother land Mrs. Katrina Miller as youngest mom.

We’re glad to report that Mrs. Janet Gregory of Castleton Ford Road is showing improvement and was able to be in church for the Mother’s Day services.

Massanova Christian School held their annual picnic last Saturday at Mountain Run Lake.

The 1957 class of Culpeper High School Reunion Committee is making plans for their reunion and should there be students of that class living in our area who have not been contacted, call Peggy Crane at 8253337 for more information.

Prayers are coveted for Mrs. Shelvy Frazier of Castleton fbrd Road, who recently fell in her home, breaking her wrist and suffering bruises.
