allegedly stored several homemade gasoline and detergent bombs in the trunk of his car. They would not have been very destructive had they been ignited, according to a law enforcement official.
Uhl apparently had told a family member he had made the bombs and that he planned to attend the funeral, but was not planning to disrupt the proceedings, police said.
The Campbell County Sheriffs office received a call Monday night from one of Uhl’s family members, who reported that he had “mentioned some explosive devices he had made,” said Maj. Steve Hutcherson. The family member also stated that Uhl said that he did not plan to disrupt the funeral

Uhl was arrested at around 11:00 p.m. at a friend’s house in Campbell County and is being held without bond in the Campbell County Adult Detention Center on suspicion

The case is currently under investigation by the Alcohol, Fire, and Tobacco (AT.F.) agency in Lynchburg; as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation
“Anytime you have somebody with what appears to be explosive devices, you have to take that threat seriously’’ Hutcherson said.
