cost-sharing agreement with an adjacent school district by raising the current enrollment limit for such agreements from 350 students to 1,200. As part of the agreement, the two districts would share services, and Rappahannock would be able to adopt a more favorable “local composite index" from the other, which would bnng more state dollars to county schools.
If passed, the bills would make 17 school districts eligible for cost-sharing agreements. The fiscal analyses of the bills, conducted by the Department of F’lanning and Budget, assumes worst case scenarios in all cases — that all districts would take advantage of opportunity to the full extent.
“You add all those worst case scenarios together and it got up to $8 million." McCarthy said.
