Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Last time we spoke, I told you to hunker down, the cold weather was coming. Of course, that prediction didn’t come to fruition until after we had a couple of 75 degree days to soften us up for the cold blast.
On those warm days, I got the bike out and rode about 100 miles to get the kinks out. Going across the Drive from Panorama to Front Royal, 1 saw three deer, one wild turkey and a beautiful bald eagle. I am always excited to see the eagles. A week or two before Christmas, a couple of friends and I were riding out Dearing Lane near Phil Irwin’s place, and we stopped and watched an eagle for a minute or two.
He landed in a big sycamore tree near the road, but when we approached in the truck, he took off and headed towards the Peak.
This morning, while the pon horse was frying, Linda noticed that two finches were perched on the side of the bird bath, which, of course was frozen solid. 1 took some warm water
