Feb. 10: “Researching Your Slave Ancestors”
On February 10, at 3 p.m. in the Town Hall, The Rappahannock Historical will present a program entitled "Researching Your Slave Ancestors." Karen Hughes White, president of the Afro-American Historical Society of Fauquier County, will share her expertise on this subject. Refreshments will be served. A $5 donation is requested. Feb. 10: Annual Bland Music Concert
The Rappahannock Lions Club "Bland Music Contest" will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Theatre in Washington, Virginia. Vocalists and instrumentalists in elementary grades through seniors are cordially invited to participate in the annual contest exclusively for Rappahannock County students. Registration forms have been placed with the music directors in each public and private school. Completed forms must be returned no later than February 1. Winners of the contest m elementary/middle school and high school categones in vocal and instrumental divisions will receive cash awards.
