Get real, folks. Think of the other possibilities. How many of you out there would like to see your retd estate taxes increased, so the county can take your money and give it to owners of large, open tracts of land, so they won’t develop it? That’s called PDR, or the Purchase of Development Rights, and that obnoxious idea made its way into the County budget considerations a year or two ago, and it got the reception it deserved.
Mr. Fletcher has, put forth a proposal to use his land and farm for some meetings and conferences, and, yes, possibly, to make a few dollars at the same time. When 1 think of all the things that could be done with 800 acres, under the existing zoning regulations, and the impact on the county that development would have, I say bring on the meetings and the conferences.
