I have been watching the Fletcher proposal with some interest. I have talked to several people who, I think, were opposed to the proposition, but when we discussed it, there reasons did not seem to be based on provisions in the county regulations, nor did they address the potential impact on the county.
Cutting to the chase, how could the Board of Supervisors deny the application, even if they wanted to do that? They just approved a plan very similar to the one in question, within spitting distance of the Miller farm. The argument that we don’t need another ®ne is irrelevant; we don’t regulate competition with zoning ordinances.
Of course, many of us would like that 800 acres to just sit there, fallow, so we can rest our weary eyes on the beauty of the open fields, and whether Bill Fletcher makes any money on it
