organizing food for memorial services. Other activities include organizing and providing food for the annual firemen’s banquet.
The Auxiliary could not be effective without the wonderful women who volunteer their time and talents. Membership is open to any woman, age 16 years or older. The first meeting for 2008 is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Flint Hill Fire Hall. If you are interested in becoming a member or would like to find out more information about the Ladies Auxiliary, you are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.
Relay for Life
The first organizational meeting for the Relay for Life was held early this week. The 2008 Relay for Life is set for May 17 & 18. This county-wide fund raiser supports cancer research and education and helps cancer patients in our county. If you are interested in forming a team or participating on a team, please call Bette Mahoney at 675-3446. She will put you in touch with the right person to get you started.
Ash Wednesday
People of all denominations are invited to participate in an Ash Wednesday worship service at Flint Hill United Methodist Church, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - the forty days of preparation for the celebration of Easter. Please plan to attend this very moving and meaningful service.
