The new owners of the Hillsdale Country Store, Jessica and Jeff Green, with Lisa Foster’s help, schlepped more than 200 lbs. of canned and boxed goods to The Pantry. The Greens plan to reopen Hillsdale in the near future.
Taste of Rappahannock didn’t end with the fabulous dinner. The pantry reaped 151 lbs. of turnips, greens, cabbage, eggplant, and radishes — all of which had been decorations for the function. The turnips were a culinary challenge for some recipients.
Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington is collecting coffee, tea, and rice for the pantry.
