are like emus. The alpaca, he explained, is a cousin to the camel and llama. They are docile and intelligent creatures which are cherished not only for their great personalities, but for their rich wool.
“Alpaca wool is eight to 10 times warmer than sheep’s wool,” he said. “It’s softer than cashmere and is 99 percent hypoallergenic.”
Alpaca wool does not itch like other animal hair because it contains no lanolin, which can irritate the skin to the point of making some people very uncomfortable or even experience allergic reactions.
