The 148-acre Whitney State Forest, located just outside Warrenton on Lees Ridge Road, offers farm tour visitors more than six miles of trails. Used for timber production, horseback riding, hiking, research, and demonstration as a wildlife sanctuary, the forest is primarily comprised of natural hardwoods with yellow poplar, northern red oak, pignut hickory, red maple, and Virginia pine.
