Steps are being taken by a group of citizens to repair and improve the children's playground back of the Post Office in Washington Charles Scroggins has volunteered his services for work to be done. A fund for new equipment has been started with good response from those who were solicited. Among the recent new and renewing subscribers to the Rappahannock News which are acknowledged with appreciation are Mrs. Clyde E. Dellinger, Carl L. Hofer, Page Moffett, Mrs. Harry Hunter, Carter Moffett, Frank Moffett, Brown Compton, Milton Sisk, Mrs. Mabel Deal, Dr. John P. Snead IV, Mrs. Roland Welch, Kenneth L. Payne Thomas G. Eastham was elected to the office of Mayor of the city of Falls Church on Sept. 2. He had served on the Town Council six years He received the unanimous vote of his six fellow councilmen.
