In the restoration of the fine old home, Mr. Marsh has retained all of the magificent old pine boards in the floors, door facings, windows, and mantels.
“Jessamine Hill’ was originally the home of Thomas Fletcher. It was built in 1840. The work was done by James I* Powers, who. built the Courthouse and othar buildings in the town of Washing* ton. Thomas Fletcher’s brother, William Fletcher built Ben Venue in 1842 by the seme plans as those Used for Jessamine Hill, and th4 two houses are identical.

M.. and Mrs. J. Armistead Lew* is were hosts at “Gr .onfield”, aseiated bp fCra. W. M. Fletcher, Mrs. W. C. Cambell, and Mrs. J. M. Settle. Of especial interest here, Hi this fine old colonial home were the many family portraits including a portrait of Mr. Lewis painted by Mrs. Lewis.
DurUf the tour of the hosts* guests were shown a rare o]d soup tureen add two small tureens in the seme pattern. The large tureen had been cracked many years dgo and mended with metal.
Mrs. Charles Estes, Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. A. M. Hickman, and Mrs. J, h Revsreomb assisted Mrs. Robert Mercer Menefee as hostess eg “San Jacinto” This completely remodeled old home, dating from 1838, is a charming example of good taste and much 1 work in restoring a Una old building. The tour of the home shewed many rare pieces of old furniture, an outstanding piece in the student’s chair, and many fine restored pieces of old pine.'
