Destroyed by fire in 1950
County Chief Forest Warden Raymond M. Johnson stated today that eight forest fires destroying or damaging 248 acres of mature and immature timber burned in Rappahannock county during the months of January through April this year. Many high danger burn* ing days occurred during January and February of this year 4- and also during the extreme dry weather of April, which explains the numerous fines to date.
