It’s graduation week for the high school misses and misters.
Most of us recall all too well how important an occasion this is. They may some day have degrees by the dozens after their names, but this diploma is the most important.
Some of os recall graduations when costumes were white dresses and the boys were in blue coats and white trousers. The girls were conscious of bouquets of flowers and the boys were conscious that their jacket sleeves were too short and trousers were too tight. Long-*1 winded speeches marked the graduation exercises and proud parents sat and fanned through the commencement. Those days have changed. The youngsters are still self-conscious, but the caps and gowns will be blamed. The young graduates will look very serious and the commencement addresses will not be as long, but the occasion is just as important as it ever was.
