un April 14, tne seniors went on a tour of^ educational value in Washingtno, D. C. Although it ’ turned out to be a cold day they ■ 'had a 'wonderful time.
On April 28 we had our second and last social of the year.
On May 4 F.F.A. and F.H.A. chapters went to Hawksbill on a picnic. The food was provided by the chapters and prepared by the Home Ec girls. *
On May 12 the seniors presented “Calling All Girls,” to approximately three-hundred people. The play was directed by Mrs. D. D. Miller, with all sixteen seniors participating.
On May 16 a music festival was given at Washington High School. Students from Reager, Flint Hill, Amissville, ' Forest Grove and Washington participated.
On May 13 the Glee Club gave an operetta entitled “Minister’s Aunt.” In the evening the juniors and seiiiors went on a picnic to Elizabeth’s Furnace.

Honor Awards
The Seniors of 1850 who have obtained the scholastic awards of this year are:
. Valedictorian — Gladys Reid; Salutatorian.—Lucy Mae Srr(ith; Giftorians—Jo Ellen Worth and Mary Karland Fincham.
The awards for those making the most progress in the Future Homemakers, and Future Farmers of America, the best boy and girl athlete, the Balfour and Citizenship awards are not made known until the night of graduation.
Those having perfect attendance are: Gladys Reid, Jeanne Woodward. Mary Karland Fin-, cham and Mary Burke.
Cafeteria News
- Mrs. Kendall and; Mrs. Pullen were kept unusually busy on Tuesday the 16th when 420 -were served in the cafeteria.- The following seniors helped to relieve the cooks hy serving and acting as hostesses: Jeanne Woodward, Virgie Dodson, Dorothy Prints, Mary Fincham, Lois Utz, Lillian Sealock, Gladys Reid, and Jo Ellen Worth.
The visiting schools attending the festival were: Ami Seville, Flint Hill, Reager and Forest Grove.
We want to' giv e Mrs. Kendall and Mrs. Pullen a word of thanks for delicious meals, and excellent service they have given the school this year.
