Glee Club Operetta

Friday, May 19 a Glee Club operetta, "The Minister’s Aunt,” under ■ the direction ' of Mrs*. Catherine Cahen and Mrs. Hazel Corbin, was presented in the school auditorium at 1:30 p.m. All twelve grades were present and we were very glad indeed to see some of our neighbors here, and we do hope they enjoyed the program as much as the members of W.H.S.
The characters were dressed in gay nineties costumes, some of whicjj Were lent by neighboring people in the county, others were made of crepe paper by the Home Economics students with the help of their advisor, Miss Owen.
Jo Ellen Worth and Lois Walter are due a lot of credit for their solos. Jo Ellen sang “My Heart Has A Song” and Lois sang “A Patchwork Quilt” and “Advice.”
Our pianist, Lucy Mae Smith, did a splendid job of playing for the operetta and she also played while Mrs. Cahen sang “My Hero” which she did beautifully.
Since we had never had an operetta we must say this was certainly one of the most eagerly awaited happenings of the year.
