Last Assembly Presented

Mrs. Moffett and her English class had charge of assembly last Friday morning at 11 o’clock.

A play “Dates Incorporated* was presented. Characters were Arthur Powers — Rodney Vest; Ralph Stout—James Goode; Peggy Chalmers — Rosie Mae Mills; Frances Blake—Virginia KeyseP; Miss Miller—Ruth Ccwgill; Mr. Chalmers — George Lawrence; Charles Remington — Harvey Sftxwt; Sarah T.—Delores Foster; Bill Butts — Shirley Woodward; Barbara Fincham acted as mistress of ceremonies.

The seniors breathed a sigh of relief when assembly was over. For months they had been dreading this hour. “The hour of the speeches.”

But as it turned out it wasn't so bad. Instead of making individual speeches, they joined in their class song

Now the time has come, to bid you all adieu, Soon we’ll be pouring out into the world, to fulfill our place intended there for us, After we’re gone oh, please remember us.

Now is the hour, when we must say good-bye, soon we’ll be leaving Dear Old Washington High. After we’re gone <we’ll always think of you and to this school we’ll be forever true.

To our Principal, Mr. Lank, we - say, thanks for the help you’ve given us each day. Teachers schoolmates too, we all say thanks to you, for the happiness we’ve shared our school days through.

Senior Lucy Mae Smith then turned over the piano to a junior Lois Walter, to the heart-tearing •trains of “Auld Lang Syne”. Miss Colvin and the 14 seniors filed out.
