The missionary society of the Flint Hill Methodist church met at the home of Mrs. Paul Miller Thursday, April 19, with 14 members present. Devotional was led by Mrs. W. A. Gentry, program chairman (was Mrs. Frank Cary, who. had as her theme fpr the program “Professional • Woman in - feexctis**the eehjeSfcuwss - cussed by Mrs. Charles Reid, Mrs. M. R. Bradford and Mrs. Paul Miller. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Miller.

A grand total of $50 was cleared at Saturday’s “White* Elephant” sale, The ladies of the different offices in the Courthouse, teasingly referred to as the' “Courthouse Gang,” wanted to replace and paint the blinds on the Courthouse as their contribution to Washington’s clean-up campaign. They had the work' done, and then held the “white elephant” sale to help foot the bill (a pretty-good-sixed one).
