Captain Groth stated that additional stations have been approved in areas where they were needed and this was done after the usual thorough investigation of the stations' personnel, facilities and .f-epufatloris. Iri addition, the~ certified mechanics have been required to attend official in structional sessions which were conducted in all parts of hte state.
The inspection period will close at.midnight, June 15, and Captain Groth was definite in saying that there can be no extension. He pointed out also that Virginia’s percentage of defective vehicles in fatal accidents had been consistently about two-thirds that of the national average and that, unlike other forms of insurance, a safe car prevents trouble rather than easing the burden after it happens.
