MRS. JENKINS ENTERTAINS WITH BIRTHDAY DINNER
Mrs. Elmer Jenkina entertained at dinner last Sunday in honor of her mother’s 56th birthday. Those present were Mrs. Isa Kite and Franklin Kite of Culpeper, Brown Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Yancey and son, Mr, and Mrs. Leedy Pullen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Barron. Mrs. Jenkins received quite a nice lot of useful presents.
‘TIM’ KILBY RETURNS HOME FROM HOSPITAL
Tim Kilby, young son of Mr. 'and Mrs. Lucio Kilby, who was struck by a car in front of his home about 10 days ago, has returned home from the Front Roy-> al hospital, and is improving very satisfactorily, at the home of his parents in Sperryville.
Volunteers May Enlist
For 21 Months or 3 Years
Many draft-age men who wish to volunteer for service before their draft boards call them still think they cannot do so for less than three years through the recruiting service. This is wrong, the Culpeper recruiting station points out. Anyone between the ages of 19 and 26 can enlist in the army for 21 months or three years, whichever he prefers, by applying to the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force Recruiting Station, 126 S. Main Street, Culpeper.
In addtion, three-year enlistments are open to both men and women. For Original enlistments, the former must be between the ages of 17 and 35 and the latter between 18 and 35. This age lim>
