The Rappahannock Garden club will sponsor a home and garden tour on Thursday, May 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The garden club expects to have four or five homes opened to the public for the tour, May 10. The names of the homes will be published at a later date.
This is the second tour held by the Rappahannock Garden club. Last year, homes and gardens opened to the public included “Jassamine Hill,” home of C. March; “Greenfield,” home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Armistead Lewis; “San Jacinto”, home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mercer Menefee; “Apple Tree Cottage,” home of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Hening; and “Mont Medi,” home of Mrs. C. R. Hite and Miss Mary Elizabeth Hite.
A great many people enjoyed the tour of the gardens and homes and the welcome they received last year on the tour and expressed the hope that such a tour would be an annual affair.
The theme of the tour this year is “Heritage of Homes/’
J. W. Griffin of Culpeper
To Instruct Firemen
The Rappahannock Volunteer firemen will meet tonight (Thursdhy) April 26, at the fire hall at 7 p.m. and (will have as their guest J. W. Griffin of Culpeper, who will , give them a class of instruction on fire fighting and use of equipment. All firemen are requested • to be present and on time, as well as any other citizens or firemen . in the county. Mr. Griffin had a number of years experience in the Navy and is an outstanding fireman of Culpeper.
