The carnival season opens in Rappahannock County on Monday, June 12 when the Washington Fire Department and Rappahannock Rescue Squad will sponsor a weeklong carnival. Beginning the 12th, it will continue through Saturday, June 17, and the week will offer fun and excitement for carnival goers. The food stand and one large game stand will be operated by the two local sponsoring organizations. Other concessions, numbering 25, will be operated by the Page Combined Shows of Louisville, Ky. There will be rides for children and adults, and games and prizes for all ages. According to Mrs. Bertha Armel, donations of food are wanted for the food stand for any and every night.
