school. He has completed work beyond his bachelor degree at the University of Virginia. He is a native of Madison County, has served~*on the Madison County School Board, and is active in community work in both Madison and Culpeper. County. The announcement came as a result of planning by the Carver Board in an effort to further educational opportune ties in the vocational fields for high school students in the four counties. As one official stated, “This school will give our young people an opportune ty to have available to them courses which any one of the four counties are, at the present time, unable to offer." It is anticipated that the school will also be available for courses at the adult level in the very near future,
Brent Sandidge, executive of ficer for Carver High School stated, "The Board feels that it would be impossible to develope a vocational program for the 1967-68 school year. However, we do anticipate that an adult program will be initiat ed by the fall of this year.” He further stated that the adult programs now being offered in the surrounding counties will be considered for this fall with additional courses being added as the demand warrants. Some of the courses which will be investigated are typing) shorthand, bookkeeping, basic adult education (the three R’s) and others. Among courses to be considered for the high school program are: Auto Mechanics, Farm Machinery, Welding, Electronics, Nursing, The Building Trades, Cosmetology, Floriculture, and the Graphic Arts.

Mrs. Ida Trump and Mrs. Mary Cleverley spent Monday in Washington D. C. buying for the Village Shop. Miss Shelby Jean Lillard and Miss Cindy Joe Fisher of Alexandria are spending this week at the home of Miss Lillard’s parents Mr. and Mrs, Clyde Lillard. Miss Lillard was a patient from Tuesday until Thursday last week in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
