‘New Wheat Farm’

Farmers who would like to be considered for a “new farm' allotment for the 1968 crop of winter wheat on a farm which does not have a 1967 wheat allotment should get in touch with the ASCS county office this month, H. S. Barksdale Chairman, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee, said today. Applications for such allotments may be filed until July 1.
A producer eligible to file such an application-isone wn'tbi a farm for which no wheat allotment has been established and for which neither the owner nor the operator has an interest in the wheat allotment on any other farm, who has available land and adequate equipment and facilities for the successful production of a wheat crop on the farm, who during the last 5 years has had at least 2. years’ experience in producing wheat and who as an operator expects to receive 50 per cent or more of the current year’s income from the total production on the farm (not including the anticipated income from wheat produced on a “new farm' allotment). Other factors are also involved, and it is suggested that interested producers discuss the details with officials at the ASCS county office. The Chairman said that formal application for a “new farm' wheat allotment maybe made by filing a written application at the ASCS county office prior to the July 1 deadline.
