Alexandria. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bayne of Culpeper were guests of the Settles for several days last week. Mr. and Mrs. James Clayton and son of Arlington spent sew eral days last week at their home on Red Oak Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Buster Hitt and sons Franklin and Winnie spent the week-end recently with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Johnson at Midway Island. Miss Olive Soutter of Fredericksburg was the guest for several days last week of Miss Nellie Johnson. Bill Johnson who has been attending Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth is spending his vacation with his parents Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Johnson on Red Oak Mountain.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Wines and family of Manassas were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cameron and family on Memorial Day. Mrs. Mattie Wines spent last Wednesday with Mrs. Elwood Wines and son at Front Royal. Mrs. Phyllis Morris entered Doctors Hospital in Washington, D. C. last Wednesday for x-rays and treatment. Mrs. Maybelle Gilkey and Mrs. Nora Sealock attended a planning meeting for the Home Demonstration Club at Washington, Va. last Thursday. Mrs. Marie Williams return ed to her home Sunday from Warren Memorial Hospital after being a surgical patient there for two weeks. Mrs. Gertrude Cameron, Mrs. Audrey Williams and Mrs. Weltie Willis were in Winchester Friday. Mrs. Harve Williams entered Warren Memorial Hospital Sunday night for treatment. Andrew L. Williams remains a patient in Warren Memorial Hospital and is reported to be improving satisfactorily. Mrs. Louisa Dooley of Front Royal spent last Thursday with Mrs. Eileen Davis. Spending •the weekend with Mrs. Davis were Mr. and Mrs. James Knestrick of Arlington and Mrs. James Knestrick of Wash ington, Pa. Visitors on Sunday were Mr. andMrs. Lewis Wallihan of “The Cedars" at Cedatville and Mr. and Mrs. Lewin Eastham of Front Royal.
