4-H awards
Young 4-H achievers in 24 states are eligible to share $3,600 in scholarships in a new phase of the 4-H key award program, sponsored by Cities Service Company.
The six recipients will be selected by the Cooperative Extension Service and honored during the 51st National 4-H Congress in Chicago, November 26-30.
For 21 years, Cities Service has provided gold key awards to 4-H members ’ with outstanding records of achievement. Variably labeled 4-H key clubs or 4-H all stars, sopie 8,000 young people are expected to join this select group during 1972.
Currently the program is available to 4-H members in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Ulinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The state 4-H leader in each of the 24 states may nominate a young man and a young woman for the, scholarship grants. The nominees also must have previously received a key award and be in attendance at the 1972 National 4-H Congress.
