The “college prep” math course at Lord Fairfax Community College has been revised for the Fall quarter. All developmental math will be offered under the course title Math 01 and conducted with the facilities of the college’s Learning Laboratory.
Math 01 will include units on arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Instruction will be totally individualized, allowing each student to learn at his own pace and use materials suited to his special learning abilities. At the beginning of the course, students will be tested to determine individual areas of strength and weakness.
A course of study, based on test results and thestudent’s educational goals, will be outlined for each student. There will be frequent progress tests to insure achievement of the course goals.
Most students who enroll in Math 01 will be completing requirements for college credit math courses. Math 01 is not, however, exclusively for these students. Any person who would like to increase his knowledge of pre-col
