Two Fairfax County youths, attempting to travel down the Rappahannock River on a raft Sunday, became lost and were finally rescued early Monday morning by a psse of Amissville volunteers.
Clay Parrish of Springfield, whose parents also own property near Viewtown in Rappahannock, and a friend, Neil Sawyer, put their rafts in the river at the new bridge on the Rappahannock - Fauquier line Sunday morning. They had equipment and food for the day and were to be met by Mrs. Parrish at the Waterloo Bridge that afternoon. They did not arrive, however, at the appointed time.
The young men had not realized how low the water was down stream due to the dry weather and in many places the river was not navigable and the banks were overgrown. After dusk fell the two
