The Happiest heart that ever beat

Within a human breast

Found common daylight sweet, - And left to God the rest.

A LADY made the remark yesterday that she “just loved September” and asked if I shared her sentiments in that regard. I told her that according to the September Song “days grow short when you reach September,” that aside from that I thought it a lovely month. September brings us the autumnal equinox and the end of summer; my favorite season of the year. Even so, September is a beautiful time of the year.

I didn’t know I had so many beautiful sisters, a few mothers perhaps, but they are getting scarce. Our pastor gave us another good sermon Sunday. Why don’t more of you come out to hear him? It would be worth your while.

Did you know that Billy Graham is getting to be quite a comic? Pulpit technique? And he advocates the use of a taboo three-letter word under proper conditions; the act itself, if within the laws of God and man. Well, well.

How many of us find “common daylight sweet”? We criticize the weatherman if the weather is bad, but we just take good weather for granted. To me all weather is good; it is a part of living, and life is good.

It is said that “adversity tries the soul.” There will continue to be good and so-called bad things to try the soul, let us think of them as less-good and thank God that He permits us to continue on this plane. It will not be forever.

THEN WHAT?
