Brenda Atkins, 1975-76 Honorary Fire Chief of the Sperryville Fire Department received her tiara in a ceremony Friday night from retiring chief, Beverly Atkins. The activity was held in connection with the annual benefit carnival which concluded Saturday night in Sperryville. Placing second was Wanda Jenkins with Natalie Swindler in third place. Kim Estes in fourth place was absent and Donna Grigsby placed fifth. The gross receipts from the carnival totaled in excess of $12,000 in spite of inclement weather Thursday which otherwise would have been a big night.
