RAIN held off last Thursday evening long enough for Sperryville to complete its annual parade held in conjunction with the firemen’s carnival, but closed concessions early after a deluge halted activities.
Carnival and parade prize winners were as follows:
The automobile given away went to Bill Cameron Jr. of Chester Gap while the $50 Savings Bond was awarded Peggy O’Dinnell of Oak Park. Receiving the $25 Savings Bond was Pam Deal of Sperryville and James Clark of Luray got the automobile battery. Ron Clem of Culpeper was given the gasoline and J. W. Fletcher won the $10 in groceries.
Prizes awarded earlier also included $100 cash which went to Becky Menefee of Sperryville and W. O. Blanks of Gainesville was given the $50.
