ic entry. Amissville Glass Co. had the best antique car with Rappahannock Lions, second. Cindy Warner was the best horse and rider and the Cub Scouts of Rappahannock were the best marching unit.
Washington 4-H’ers took the best civic float while Stringfellow Excavating had the best commercial one. Pam Leake rode the best decorated bicycle with Ginger and Robin Estes, second. In the boys group Eric Niskanen and Dale Roy Cameron were first and second with their bikes.
Cindy Warner with her Arabian Stallion received the Judges Award and Mrs. Bertha Armel received a special award as the first lady of first aid. Mrs. Armel says she is the first woman in Virginia to have first aid training.
The fire and rescue volunteers expressed appreciation to all who attended, contributed, worked or helped in any way toward the extreme success of the carnival. □
