Walter Masterson wondered about renovating the cafeteria for classrooms and feeding the high school students from the elementary school kitchen, since the elementary school is only a few hundred yards down the road. “Feed ‘em airline style in the classrooms,” Masterson said.

That might work in the elementary school rooms, where the students stay in one room all day, but it wouldn’t work in the high school, Norton said. There the students move from room to room. “We’d still need to have the serving and eating area,” even it the kitchen was eliminated, he said.

“What’s so different about the high school?” Masterson asked. “They’re still in the classrooms when lunch comes.” You could employ the techniques of the Marriott “in-flight” service, he said. Moving food, quickly and making it palatable, is the Marriott Corporation’s business, Masterson said. He works for the Marriott Corporation.
